We,The Gandeepam Global Foundation volunteers extend our solidarity through care and support for the victims of the tsunami in the very first day on 26th December,2004 2.00 p.m. onwards. up to 3rd January ,2005 we have recovered and criminated 1305 dead bodies form Nagoor, Akkaraipettai, Keechankuppam, Nampiyar nagar, Tharangampadi, Serudur, Pradhamapuram, Ariya nadu and Maraimalai Nagar with the help of our 200 volunteers.

We are also conducting medical camps with the team of medical faculties and medicines since 27th onwards at various places of Nagapattinam such as CSI Higher Secondary School Nagapattinam, Puthur, Serudur and Keechankuppam. We have given treatment to 16,354 for various diseases which includes TT for 9,634 persons. We have established sanitation with help of phynoil, bleaching powder to prevent water prone and soil prone microphial infection.

We have also extend our support to the victims provide protected water, biscuits, food, cloths and cooking vessels. We are also providing counseling into the help of qualified and trained staffs. We have identified number of orphans. We are also conducting a base line survey about the affected victims and assess their needs. We have planned to extend our services up to 30 villages, which are mostly affected in the tsunami. In the immediate future we have also decided to support to the victims of the tsunami in rehabilitating their life.
