MIND-BODY DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM

Siddha medical theory identifies three mind/body types Vatha, Pitta and Kapha. These can be further differentiated as combinations of any two or a combination of all three. An individual’s mind/body type informs the diagnosis and determines the most effective treatment. All Siddha treatments, including those for HIV, are prescribed specifically for an individual’s mind/body type. Recognizing HIV manifestations according to mind/body type is required for proper diagnosis and treatment: Vatha: skin disease, musculo-skeletal pain Pitta: vomiting, diarrhea, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) Kapha: respiratory conditions, including TB and TB tumors
