:: Economic Development

Income generation projects in Siddha to be promoted by NGOs and CBOs to focus on training women in preparing herbal products, including for use in primary health care and in pre- and post-natal care. Village level clinics to be promoted by the ISM department to provide rural health care and to enhance local livelihood opportunities. Veterinary Departments should include Siddha remedies in livestock care and breeding, both for cost savings and for rural employment.

National and international funds to be sought for the development and promotion of Siddha medicine, including from the National Biodiversity Fund from IPRs and related sources, which should be used to promote Siddha education and state, district and community awards.

Creation of a World Herbal and Medicinal Plants Trade Organization.
